Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Alem Integrated Health collects through this website, how we use and protect it, the third-party services we rely on, and your privacy rights as a California resident.

Alem Integrated Health ("Alem," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at alemintegratedhealth.com. We respect your privacy and are committed to being clear about the limited information this website handles. This policy applies to this website only. It does not cover information collected in person at our clinic, which is handled under separate healthcare privacy practices described below.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you book an appointment, the scheduling is handled by our third-party provider, Calendly. To reserve a time you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to share about the reason for your visit. When you contact us by phone or email, we receive whatever information you include in that message. If we add optional intake or insurance-upload forms in the future, any information you submit through them is covered by the privacy practices of the secure, healthcare-appropriate service that powers them.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, when you visit we (and our service providers) may automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used.

We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive health information through this marketing website.

Appointment booking (Calendly)

We use Calendly to schedule appointments. When you book, the information you enter is processed and stored by Calendly on our behalf so we can confirm and manage your appointment and send appointment-related communications such as confirmations and reminders. Your use of the Calendly booking page is also subject to Calendly's own privacy policy. Please avoid entering detailed medical information into booking fields; we will discuss your health history securely at your visit.

Contact and communications

If you call or email us, we use your information solely to respond to you, schedule or manage your care, and follow up as appropriate. We do not use your phone number or email address for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell your contact information.

Cookies and tracking technologies

This website uses minimal cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to function. If and when we activate analytics (see below), additional cookies or identifiers may be used to measure site usage. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect certain features. We honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you view. This information helps us measure things like which pages are most helpful and how visitors reach the booking page. We do not use analytics to identify individual patients. You can opt out of Google Analytics across websites using Google's browser add-on. Analytics is only active if a measurement ID has been configured for the site.

Google Fonts

This website loads fonts hosted by Google Fonts to display its typography. When your browser requests these fonts, your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers as part of that standard request. This is used only to deliver the fonts and is subject to Google's privacy practices.

Embedded map (Google Maps)

Our Contact page embeds a Google Maps frame so you can find our office. When that map loads, Google may receive standard technical information about your visit and may set its own cookies, subject to Google's privacy practices. If you prefer not to load the map, you can navigate to our address directly: 2 Clinton Park, San Francisco, CA 94103.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to schedule, confirm, and manage appointments; respond to your questions; provide and improve our care and this website; keep the site secure and prevent misuse; and comply with our legal and professional obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers who help us operate this website and our scheduling (such as Calendly, our website host, and analytics and font providers described above), and only as needed for them to perform those services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our patients, staff, or others, or in connection with a business transfer.

Health information and HIPAA

This website is an informational and appointment-request site. It is not our medical records system, and it is not intended for you to submit protected health information (PHI). Any protected health information you share with us during your care at the clinic is governed by federal and California health-privacy laws, including HIPAA, and by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at the clinic. Third-party tools linked from this site (such as Calendly) are not a substitute for that protected channel; please do not use them to send medical details or insurance documents unless a service specifically designated for that purpose is provided.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to provide and manage your care, and to meet our legal, professional, and recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information handled through this website, including serving the site over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights regarding personal information we collect:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
  • Right to access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit a request.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service for exercising your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request by reasonably confirming your identity, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. Care for minors is arranged by a parent or guardian.

Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites and services (for example, our booking page and review platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Updated" date above and post the current version on this page.
