Meet Dr. Daniel

The doctor who refused
to rush.

Dr. Daniel Agegnehu built Alem around a simple conviction: if you don't understand why it hurts, you're just chasing the pain around the body. Here's the person behind the practice, and why he does it the way he does.

His philosophy

Care the way he wished his patients had found sooner.

Early in his training, Dr. Daniel kept seeing the same thing: people in pain being processed, not understood. Five-minute visits. A quick adjustment. A vague instruction to come back indefinitely, with no explanation of what was actually wrong. He found it backwards. The most important part of care, the part that actually changes outcomes, was the part everyone was skipping.

So he built the alternative. As a marathon runner and a coach who trains young athletes, he understands the body as a connected system: a tight back that traces to a stiff hip, a runner's sciatica that started somewhere else entirely. At Alem, he takes the time to listen, assess thoroughly, treat what he actually finds, and teach patients enough to take care of themselves.

If you don't understand why it hurts, you're just chasing the pain around the body.

That last part, teaching, matters to him more than to most providers, and it reveals his real philosophy. He doesn't want to be the clinic you can't stop visiting. He wants to be the clinic that actually fixes the problem, and earns, by doing so, the kind of trust that makes people send the ones they love.
